Did you Know?

It all began in 1984 with the introduction of a closed-circuit station that could only be found on the Laurentian University campus.

Now, 40 years later, CKLU has established itself as one of the most unique stations in Northeastern Ontario.

CKLU has a full spectrum of shows . With alternative programming featuring music from all over the globe, to real talks on politics, health, and sports, you will never be bored when tuning in.

CKLU has over 40 volunteer DJs who write, produce, and air their own shows. “Your Station” as many unique programs for every age, taste, and style in the region.

As a not-for-profit station, CKLU is limited in the number of minutes dedicated to advertising per hour, meaning we provide a higher content-to-ad ratio than other stations.

CKLU’s operating budget comes from the generosity of our supporters. Everyone on air volunteers their time to make us not just a station, but a family.
